Tig Aesthetics Silicone Trailing Shield (Flat)

The Tig Aesthetics Silicone Trailing Shield (Flat), made with Ticon Industries, extends argon coverage behind the weld when TIG welding highly reactive metals that need an inert environment. It is best used to increase travel speed on flat sheet or plate, and its compact design gives good control in most freehand welding.

Features

• High-temperature silicone body handles the heat of any #16 or 1" cup and holds its shape on welds of 100+ amps
• Built-in drag bar on the tail helps prevent direct contact with hot material
• Multi-layer screen diffuser and shower head diffuser fitting give even argon coverage on flat sheet or plate and add rigidity to the shield
• Hose retention tab snaps onto the back cap and keeps the argon hose aligned with the shield as you change torch angle

Note: the silicone body is designed to hover above the weld seam, not touch it.

Setup Tips

• We recommend 6mm argon purge line
• Recommended gas flow is 15-20 SCFH, depending on the weldment and environment
• Run a test pass on scrap to dial in your flow and travel speed
