Everlast Thunder 255 MTS Pulse MIG, DC TIG & Stick Welder
See how the Thunder 255 MTS compares with other NZ brands →
The Everlast Thunder 255 is a single-phase multi-process welder offering Pulse MIG, standard MIG, flux-cored MIG, DC TIG and stick in one portable machine. It suits fabrication workshops, maintenance, manufacturing and on-site work on mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium.
Synergic PowerSet mode sets the welding parameters for you, while full manual mode gives experienced welders complete control. A heavy-duty 4-roll wire drive, high-frequency TIG start and 30-program memory give industrial-level performance from a 220–240 V single-phase supply.

Welding Capacity
- Steel & stainless (MIG): single pass up to 11 mm, multi-pass over 19 mm, minimum approx. 0.6 mm
- Aluminium (MIG): with the supplied MIG torch fitted with a PTFE liner and U-groove drive rolls, single pass up to 10 mm, multi-pass over 19 mm, minimum approx. 2 mm. For longer aluminium welds a push-pull torch such as the Parker SG360A or Parker DSP360 is recommended.
- DC TIG: single pass up to 13 mm, multi-pass up to 19 mm, minimum approx. 0.4 mm
- Stick: electrode size 1.6–4.8 mm. Maximum electrode size and performance vary with electrode type and application.

- 26 series air-cooled TIG torch with 3.8 m lead and 35 Dinse connector
- 2T / 4T TIG torch switch with 3.8 m lead and 2-pin connector
- Stick electrode holder with 3 m lead and 35 Dinse connector
- Earth clamp with 3 m lead and 35 Dinse connector
- Deluxe MTS foot pedal with 7-pin connector
- Argon regulator with gas hose

Generator Use
Use only a clean sine wave generator with 5% total harmonic distortion (THD) or less, with a minimum of 13 kVA (13,000 W) surge output. A generator with excessive THD or insufficient output may damage the machine and void the warranty.
Good to Know
- Smaller wire sizes may need optional drive rolls, liners or MIG torches for best wire feed.
- Aluminium welding needs a PTFE liner with U-groove drive rolls.
- For 0.6 mm and 0.8 mm wire, a smaller MIG torch and matching liner are recommended.
- Extended gasless flux-cored welding is best done with a dedicated flux-cored MIG torch.
- Power plug not included. Installation should be done by a qualified electrician using the right connector for a 220–240 V single-phase supply.
